I'm currently in the process of re-evaluating my BJD collection, which means I'm going to be selling some dolls :)

*he has sold :)

If you are interested, please feel free to send me a note or, if you're on DOA, you can view his sales thread here:

I'm hoping he can find a good home soon :)

It's time for my floating heads to find new homes :)
I've listed them here on ebay:

www.ebay.com/itm/251589894724?…
www.ebay.com/itm/251589878326?…
www.ebay.com/itm/251589890497?…

The auctions are starting at $.99 so there's a good chance somebody is going to get them for a steal :)

I also just did my first ever sanding mod!  It was terrifying, but I couldn't stand the nose on my Gerard Way MNM head, so I gave it a go and I'm pretty pleased with the results :)  It's not perfect and I could probably have gone a bit further with it, but it's certainly more of a likeness now than it was originally, (I think sometimes the MNM sculptors stuck a generic 'man nose' on the sculpts, sort of tweaked them and called it a day disregarding things like proportion...drives me batty)

So...I snagged a Gerard Way minimee head for a song a little while back, (possible pun not intended XD) and the poor boy has been sitting around blank and naked.  I'd never intended on owning any MCR based BJD, but I couldn't quite resist when he appeared at the price he did.  The aculpt likeness isn't the best in the world, but, heck, it's Gerard Way!   I'm going to see what he looks like given a proper faceup-though I'm not sure which era I'm going to be shooting for just yet, (there's a part of me that wants to tackle Revenge complete with bloody nose etc...we'll see XD)

In other BJD news...

I'm currently selling a few of my boys as well as most of my floating heads (on DOA, soon on ebay...if you're curious who, feel free to Note me lol) and making way for a DC Dolores-so excited!!!

It's been such a long time since I written a journal here...I hate that it has to include such a negative subject.

While I wasn't the victim this time around, a couple of friends of mine, as well as several other well known BJD artists have had their photography stolen, filtered through photoshop, and passed off as 'original paintings' by this person:
www.facebook.com/matthew.c.nel…
He currently has a kickstarter project as well in order to sell his 'original art.'
and a dA account here as well:
artistmattnelson.deviantart.co…
I'm not looking to start a witch hunt, but this kind of theft happens too often, especially in the BJD community, and people can't be allowed to continue to do this kind fo thing.  It's wrong.
Please, please do not patron this person.  And, if you see a stolen image, inform the artist and report it asap.

On a lighter note, I am selling some OOKA Hujoo right now on ebay:

I also plan on taking some fresh photos of my boys.  It's been far too long and I miss creating art with my BJD, (although this most recent bout of art theft makes me wary *sigh*).  So I'll be posting new photos soon.

I've finally moved, (sigh of relief).  I'm loving my new studio space so far!!  I'm still in the process of moving/unboxing my resin boys, but I'm really looking forward to working on face-ups and taking photos here :)

I'm in the process of moving, so all commissions have come to a halt.  I'm going to admit-I'm a bit nervous about transporting all of my resins, even if it is only a 40 minute drive.

Hopefully I'll be back to taking photos etc. soon in my new space!

I've been swamped with commissions, (both BJD face-ups and illustration work), lately...which is good!  But there never seems to be enough time in the day XD

I'm expecting the arrival of my first Volks YoSd in a couple of weeks-a little Neon :)  I never thought of myself owning a Volks tiny, but I got the chance to handle a couple some months ago and I'm excited about getting my hands on the little guy and injecting some wicked angst into him!

I'm also on the hunt for a commissioner who can make a very specific short wig for me for my Iplehouse EID.  So if anyone knows anyone...

I've also be itching to take photos of my boys lately so, hopefully, I'll be uploading some eye candy over the next few weeks

I've reopened my BJD commissions and am super stoked about a couple of them that I'm currently working on, (I'm so fascinated by the ideas doll people come up with!).

I also feel like my brain is going through some sort of weird, artistic metamorphosis lately.  Every couple of years it seems, I get creatively super charged and strange, fascinating things begin to weave themselves together for me creatively.  Not sure what's going to come of it, but I definately feel something cooking :D

Life has been pretty darn hectic for me lately.  I'm currently taking a small break from commissions, but I have a ton of projects I need to work on, including another face-up for BJDCollectasy, (and several non BJD art commission jobs that are eating my life)  A few of my resin boys have been needing face-ups as well and I'm hoping to find some time to work on them soon.

Also...

I'll be going to BJDC in Austin at the beginning of August :D  It's a bit of a last minute thing, but I'm very excited as I've never been before!

I'm also being sorely, SORELY tempted by Dollshe's current discontinuation of sculpts and sale.  I've always had a soft spot of Van and have never even seen one on the secondary marketplace, so his re-release is making me happy/antsy.

This past month has been a strange one for me.  Busy.  A lot of happy, sad and chaotic things all being thrown ito the mix at the same time.  I haven't yet been able to get outside to do the promised Berserk photoshoot with my Griffith and Guts, (my days off always seem to involve inordinant amounts of rain lol), but I'm defiantely still planning on it :D

I have another featured face-up on BJDcollectasy right now :)  This one is 'spring themed'; the article can be found here:
www.bjdcollectasy.com/articles…

AND...
I got my Doll Chateau boy!!!!!!!!!!!  He's absolutely divine and I'm so excited that I decided to reshell my beloved character Thomas-the Hugh sculpt is ridiculously perfect for him.

I also have a couple of BJD on ebay right now:

Thomas' former self, with a brand new OOAK face-up is currently on ebay:

And a new OOAK Sprite that I recently painted:

It's April 1rst...and apparently DA is being overrun by cats..?  Either that or my comp is being invaded by some sort of cat pop up virus, (in any case I'm scared to click the pop up)

I've been absolutely swamped by commissions lately-both of the BJD and fine art/painting variety.  It's a good swamp to be in, but I'm feeling a little creatively drained atm...which means I need to take a little extra time for my own projects here and there I think.  My little Limhwa Aria boy hasn't even gottne his face-up yet-the poor thing lol

I'm also itching to take some new BJD photos...if anyone has a request for which of my boys they'd like to see more of, I'm open to suggestions

I can't begin to say how much fun I had painting Solomon like that.  I've been wanting to do a face-up like that for ages!!

Also...I had an AMAZING time at Ohayocon this past weekend.  As usual, my focus was on cosplay and not BJD, (though I did bring my Glati, Tussels with me and caught the tail end of one of the meet-ups), and I met a whole slew of fantastic people...including J. Michael Tatum who is very adorable in person, (and super sweet...especially considering the fact that I melted into a hopeless fangirl when I first started talking to him lol).

Awesome news!  My BJD photography is being featured on the Euro industrial/goth band Deuxvolt's newest album Union of Opposites!

Check it out:

www.deuxvolt.com/

I'm very honored/flattered that they contacted me wanting to use that image of Cain and Rue-what a fun holiday suprise!!  Fairyland was wonderful as well and gave me their permission and blessing, (yay awesome BJD companies!)

Also...I was the recipient of a random act of kindness this Christmas from someone in the BJD community!   A member on DOA whom I'd never had direct correspondence with, saw from a photogallery thread that I had recieved a damaged/ill fitting outfit as part of a swap. This person, who I did not know, took it upon herself to make a new outfit for me. Out of the blue.  Just out of the kindness of her heart.  How amazing is that?!

I'll be posting photos of it soon :D  It's absolutely glorious

The weather here has been freakishly warm lately here, (for this time of year in any case lol), and it has me itching to work on face-ups!
I'm waiting for a couple of commissions to come in, but in the meantime I just might redo a couple of my boy's face-ups...or maybe work on the couple of random blank floating ehads that are living around here now...
Also...I've discovered the crack that is Dollheart Fukubukuro.  If I had unlimited funds, I would buy so many of those darn grab bags...I love suprises so much lol

So, after not feeling well for weeks I discovered that I have Vitamin D toxicity!  Bleh!  Which means my body is, apparently, working VERY well post surgery, (and didn't need thsoe massive doses of D the Dr had me on)...but it also means I've been dealing with all sorts of unpleasant symptoms.  I'm starting to feel a liiiiiiiiitle bit better though, which is a good thing!

BJD-wise, I've been busy turning my boys into various character dolls lately...Guts and Griffith from Berserk, (those two are going to take a while yet to finish lol), and Ciel and Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji.  My 'big L' Kenichi Matsuyama MNM boy is 'cosplaying' Sebastian...just gave him a suitable face-up the other day and I can't wait to take some photos of him with my little Ciel :D

In fact...I need to take more photos of my boys period.

Hopefully I'll be uploading some new stuff very, very soon!

I'm finally getting the chance to REALLY work on my Iplehouse Theo, Griffith.  I'm so very excited!   Not only is he just a spectacular sculpt to begin with, but he's also going to be the doll version of one of my favorite characters in all of manga/anime...and that makes me so very happy!

I also saw the official Berserk movie trailer today, (it innitially was released right after my surgery so it completely slipped past my radar), which only adds fuel to the fire.

I wonder what it is about Berserk that seems to grip fans and grip them hard?  Innitially I assumed it was the characters that sucked me in, since they are SO strong...but now I think it might have something to do with the intense personal passion of the creator...?  Hm...not sure... In any case, I've been firmly in its grasp for a long while now.  Anything that has me both cosplaying and making BJD versions of characters is rooted pretty deep in my fandom heart!

I'm also going to be getting caught up on official examples of my face-up work over the next couple of weeks since I'll be opening my commissions shop again in September.  My gallery examples over on DOA and the other BJD forums I'm on are all very outdated.  Some of them I find almost embarassing now, actually.  I'm wondering if I should take some down...including a few here on DA.  Although, of course, then I run into the problem of not wanting to dissapoint the people who have fav-ed them...so...
